Getting ready for a trade show involves a lot of guess work. How many people will be attending? Will they be in the mood to spend or will you just get a bunch of window shoppers? Is going big the right direction or would something more personal have a more profound impact? Like I said guess work. All the prep in the world will only get you so far and the fact is that once it’s all said and done, how effective you were all boils down to how well you were able to influence the customer. Something as simple as the temperature of the building, the layout of the event, or the condition of the facilities could make or break your whole trip. Maybe instead of guessing what your customers want, you should be asking them straight out.
Feedback straight from the customer is one of the best ways to judge how effective your displays are. All the custom graphics, overhead banners, video stations in the world mean nothing if instead of attracting the customer they distract them or worse send them running in the other direction. Feedback is easy to get cause all you gotta do is ask. Forget surveys or questionnaires, just strike up a conversation with those that visit your booth and ask them what they think. Like they taught us in school it’s about the What, When, Why, and How of it all. “What do you think of our presentation?” “How do you think we could be more effective?” “Why would somebody not want to know more about what we are offering?” “When do you think you might want to talk more about our product?” Try to be as casual as possible so as not to give people the feeling of being interrogated, but at the same time don’t be afraid to ask people for ways you could have done a better job at getting your message across.
After all the glitz and glamour of the trade show is over with, what matters the most is how effective you were in getting your message across to the customer. By talking to visitors throughout the day and getting their opinions on your presentation not only are you creating a relationship with that person, but you also gain some insight how you can be better prepared for your next event.

The moment you find out you are about to have a child your home becomes a death trap. At least that’s the way it appears as you look around at all the things that go into making up your home sweet home. The fireplace covered in bricks that you have enjoyed curling up in front of for years suddenly becomes a fiery pit of doom complete with rough edges that could easily cause serious damage if fallen against. One thing that a home can never have too many of are electrical outlets and they are everywhere screaming flashing red danger waiting patiently for a fork or finger to be stuck in. The refrigerator, the cabinets, the toilets, every door and closet, bring with them new nightmares of things that could go horribly wrong if turned upon an innocent baby. And then there are the floors…..even if you never got around to installing hardwood floors like you always wanted, that carpet under your feet is only so thick and underneath that more than likely lies a ton of concrete.
Now we may not be able to help you with all those so called evils lurking through your home, one thing Godfrey can do though is give you some peace of mind when it comes to dealing with your floors and that fireplace mantle you love so much.
You may not have noticed this, but tucked in between all the kiosk displays, light box stands, and hanging banners; Godfrey also sells Cushy Foam Rubber Tiles! These interlocking pieces come in red, yellow, blue, and green. Each 2′ square is 5/8′ thick and is great for adding a little extra padding all throughout your home. Plus their design alone inspires kids to pull them apart and put the pieces back together again like a giant floor puzzle. Speaking of puzzles, by piecing a series of tiles at 90 degree angles along your fireplace you can breathe easier knowing that you’ve now got an extra barrier in between your child and all that brick. Perfect for anywhere in your home where you need some extra cushion between your family and that hard floor; these foam tiles are also soft on your wallet! At $3.25 a square-foot new flooring never cost better or looked so good in your child’s room.
Fantastic for outdoor patios, those with hardwood floors, or for anyone that has a child, these Cushy Foam Rubber Tiles could just be the last piece of that child safety puzzle you have been wrestling with!

Drive down any major street in America and no doubt signs for McDonalds, Target, Toys R Us, as well as several odd number billboards will catch your eye. Now this could mean you have a 4 yr-old in the backseat like I typically do or according to one study, it may mean that certain colors play a key role in what we opt to spend our money on. Believe it or not there is an entire field of psychology devoted to the science of figuring out what moods are brought on by specific colors and what they are finding is that although you may not know it, some colors may actually be subconsciously pulling or pushing you towards them. Take my the example of McDonalds above; when you think fastfood phrases like “need to be quick“, “in a hurry“, “no time to sit still” probably come to mind all of which just happen to be associated with colors red, yellow, and orange. It should also come as no surprise that these are also the main colors covering the majority of fast food joints across the country. Now take the opposite; when you want that the perfect restaurant to have a nice romantic night out what does your favorite spot typically look like? My guess would be someplace with low light, clean white linens, tan almost dark brown walls, and everything is covered in the soft glow from several well placed candles. As it turns out each of the colors I just described encourages people to slow down and relax.
In terms of trade shows the right colors can make all the difference and help set the perfect mood to match who you are as well as what your message is. This is why the Godfrey Group goes to great lengths to offer its customers more than your standard red, blues, and greens. When you get ready to place your order with us, take a look at our RoadRunner Color and Push Loop selection guides where you will find such eye capturing colors like Blueberry, Oyster, Par Green, Sterling, and the always popular Flame red. Need something with a little texture to it? How about Regency, Amber, or Stellar all available in ribbed or velvet designs. The Godfrey Group has plenty of colors to choose from each available for table runners, throws, pop-up displays, and other exhibits. Remember before you get ready to attend your next event, think about the mood you want to set and get with Godfrey for the perfect color to match your needs.

The world’s largest consumer technology trade show, the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show, known in the industry as the CES, is being held this week in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Convention Center/Las Vegas Hilton and The Venetian. CES is such a large show that at least two venues are necessary, for the show covers more space than 35 (American) football fields. That’s a big space, folks.
The CES is always loaded with fantastic new electronics, all displayed beautifully in trade show booths and kiosks, many of these from Godfrey Group. If you are attending CES with specific products or companies in mind, look above the crowd for overhead banners and hanging headers; those are always an easy way to find something specific in a large area.
General information about the CES may be found on its website.
Hadn’t you best hurry over there? Lady Gaga, Garfield, Stan Lee, Drew Carey, Guy Kawasaki, Soleil Moon Frye (Punky Brewster!), Bradley Whitford, Tommy Lee, and many other celebrities will be at this year’s CES.
And the EXHIBITS!!! Awesome doesn’t begin to describe them.
