2011 NAMM Show Proves Once Again Big Names Equal Big Business!

Monday, January 17th, 2011

Last week Anaheim Convention Center in always sunny Anaheim, California was the home of the annual National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) trade show. The event which is unfortunately not open to the public drew a crowd of over 90,000 and caught some headlines thanks to a one of a kind music set that is has everyone across the country talking. It all went down Wednesday when former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and rumored 2012 Republican presidential candidate got the chance of a lifetime to pick up a guitar and play a couple songs with legendary Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen. Huckabee was at the trade show in support of their commitment to keep music education in schools. The former Governor turned Fox New talk show host described this year’s NAMM trade show as “musician’s heaven”

Soon after the jam session took place the video went viral and within seconds millions all around the world that had never heard of the trade show event were suddenly checking out the NAMM video. As one can imagine this kind of advertising is priceless, yet isn’t anything that can’t be done by any other trade show vendor on the circuit today.  The trick is giving the people something they have never seen before such as a one of a kind display that is sure to knock them off their socks. Imagine the type of response you could receive by letting Godfrey help you design a custom built display such as a submarine complete with a periscope, portholes, video monitors, and computer kiosks that are specifically designed to engage the customer. How about an eco-friendly trade show display with a center tower topped with fire and surrounded by monitors showing off your hottest products.

Sure it helps to have a movie star or legend of rock handy, but when one of those isn’t waiting in the wings a quality built custom designed trade show display from Godfrey is sure to get people talking!

Now Is The Time To Redesign That Showroom!!

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

Being as it is the first week of 2011 one can’t help but be optimistic about what the future will hold for this country. As our leaders begin to make plans and iron out details for what will hopefully bring forth a surge of economic growth in the coming twelve months, one leading indicator suggests that things are already starting off on the right foot. According to economists small businesses were responsible for 58% of all the hiring that took place in November. What this means is that over 90,000 individuals were hired to work for companies that employed less than 50 workers overall. President Obama had this to say about the surge, “When our small businesses don’t do well, America doesn’t do well. So we all have a stake in helping our small businesses grow and succeed. And because small businesses create two out of every three new jobs in America, our economy depends on it.” Todd McCracken, president of the National Small Business Association echoed the President’s sentiments by saying that “The marked increase in employment by the smallest firms is a very positive indicator for economic growth. This makes it even more critical than ever that policymakers do everything in their power to ensure this growth can continue.”

If you are a small business owner who is in the processes of hiring new employees to help accommodate a new surge of growth, then maybe now is also the time to look into redesigning your showroom. With Godfrey’s Bizwall system a new showroom is simply a click of a button away.

BizWall Showroom Interiors include:

*Panel walls light enough to be handled like furniture and can be set up by your office staff, without tools.

*Panels are Portable and modular, but with the look of permanent walls.

*Changeable face panels for office interiors, showrooms, or retail merchandising.

If you are one of the growing number of small business that have  recently begun experiencing an increase in sales resulting in the need for additional employees, maybe the time is right to also look at redesigning that old dated showroom with the help of Godfrey’s fantastic looking Bizwall Showroom Interiors!

Don’t Wait Till Spring Has Sprung! Order Your New Outdoor Display Today!

Friday, December 31st, 2010

Being as this is New Year’s Eve it only makes sense that we would be talking about resolutions and ways to improve your business for the coming year. So far this week we have covered ideas for saving the planet with the help of our environmentally friendly PodForum series and just how our display rental program could literally make it so you are in two places at once. Today we are going to talk about putting things off to the last minute. It’s something we all do and for many no matter how hard they try nothing cannot be put off till later so that something more fun or more desirable can be done immediately. According to one group of researchers looking into ways to more effectively manage timeIn 1978, 5% of the population admitted to being chronic procrastinators compared to to roughly 26% of the population today (Steele, 2007).Surveys of student populations suggest that procrastination is pervasive with some surveys suggesting that 85-95% of students have problems associated with procrastination”

When running a business there always seems to be things that are considered more desirable and tasks that are uncomfortable to do. Nobody wants to sit around worrying about taxes or working on dropping sales reports all day when they can be out making contacts and marketing their company to the public. Still though in order to be a success it’s important to be aware of coming trends and what consumers will expect from you in the weeks or months ahead. A prime example of this can be found in Godfrey’s extensive design library. Winter is hitting the U.S hard with blizzards causing over 10,000 flight delays across the country. As individuals we can’t help but pay attention to the cold weather headlines taking over out nightly news reports, but as business owners we need to be planning for brighter days as Spring begins to creep closer and closer. This means that the time to begin designing that custom inflatable outdoor display isn’t three months from now when the temps begin to edge into the early 80′s, today is the day to begin making those plans so that when Spring has finally sprung to life you are ahead of the curve with your new trade custom built tent city already sitting within arm’s reach.

This year don’t wait to the last minute to find a display that’s a perfect fit for your needs, resolve to start looking toward the future today!!

Renting A Display Could Save Your 2011 Budget!!

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

This week we talking about the one thing on everyone’s mind and that’s New Year’s resolutions. Whether you are planning on quitting smoking, joining a gym, or answering the phone when your mom calls every day, no doubt you have something special in mind that if you could just stick to it might change your entire life. New Year’s resolutions aren’t just for individuals though. In fact setting a list of goals for the coming business year is always a good practice to maintain and could end up making you a ton of profits. On Monday we discussed a type of resolution that is sure to be at the top of everyone’s list, going green with the help of Godfrey’s PodForum series of environmentally friendly trade show displays. Today we want to focus on another way to save, but this time we want to target your wallet with the help of our trade show rental program.

One question we get time and time again about display renting is “How can it help my business?” The answer is “How can it not?” Regardless of whether you operate a retail store, a mail order company, or even a mall kiosk, renting a display is not only a smart decision it may just be the key to opening up doors you never knew existed.

How renting a display can help your business

1) Allows you to be in two places at the same time. We understand you can’t always control other people’s schedules and that at times it seems almost impossible to be at all the places that you would like to at the same time. So what do you do on those days you need to be at the big trade show in Chicago, at the local union meeting near your headquarters in New York, and still keep someone at your flagship store? Whether it’s a onetime thing or you find yourself continuously pulled in multiple directions, a rental display can help by easily giving you a presence where the help is needed.

2)Testing out new ideas becomes easier. Got an idea that just might change the way you market your company? Want to test out the waters of the trade show market without having to risk losing a ton of cash? Thinking about expanding but not sure if now is the best time? Renting a display takes care of all of these problems without causing you to over extend your budget

With the New Year quickly approaching now is the time make those changes and take those chances you have been chewing over for months. Thanks to Godfrey’s display rental program you are one click away from gaining access to a display that includes such options as: a standard portable display with graphics creating a custom look; a combination of our systems configured for a custom look; a customized TechForm or Truss beam system; a complete custom PodForum system.

2011 Money Goals For The Trade Show Vendor

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

With little over a week left till the official start of 2011 somewhere in the back of everyone’s mind ideas are forming as to what they want to change in their life come the New Year. It might be something as simple as making sure to always open the car door for your wife or as life changing as quitting smoking or as frustrating as trying to stop biting your nails. While it’s good to have individual resolutions, in terms of your business it might also be helpful to have a few money goals for the coming year. How much to you want to spend? How many trade shows would you like to attend? How many contacts should you make at each event? These are just a few ideas that could help make the coming year the best year to date for your company.

Two Must Have Money Goals For The Trade Show Vendor

Spend money more effectively- This is not to be confused with saving every nickel and dime that comes your way. Spending money effectively involves making sure that no matter what the cost is, you are getting the most value for your buck. An example of this could be a trade show pedestal. Now you might choose to get the cheapest one on the market. However with a little research you will quickly discover that Godfrey’s pedestals are available in a wide variety of shapes, colors, and combinations. They may not be the cheapest on the market, but why would you want something cheap when you can get something that will earn you money in the long run.

Behold The Power of The Contact Sheet- Whether you are setting up shop in the middle of a busy mall or at one of the largest convention centers in the country, you should always have the same goal….build leads. Don’t let anyone walk away from your kiosk or booth without getting their name, phone number, and or email address. The more contacts you gather the greater the chance that one of them will turn into a sale even if it takes several months.  A good leads list is something that needs to be visited every month or so in order to cultivate those leads and generate other contacts as well.

Just check a map of your local area and no doubt you will find an outdoor festival designed to melt away those winter blues. With vendors offering hot chocolate, apple cider, chicken stew, and Christmas carolers a plenty this definitely is the season to be jolly. Portable Conference Rooms For Your Next Trade Show!!

Friday, December 10th, 2010

Have you ever been at a trade show and wished for the one thing that only an insane person would expect to have with hundreds of people walking past at any given time. Today we are talking about privacy which is something that you are ensured never to get during a trade show. Given you are there to sell sell sell and the whole purpose of a trade show is to get your name out by talking to as many people as possible, but still there are always those times when you can’t help but think that if you could just have a few moments of privacy with an individual it would surely lead to a sale. After all a little one on one time goes a long way to establishing that all important relationship that is essentially the foundation of any sale not to mention any reoccurring sale.

Godfrey understands this need for a place to sit out and spend some one on one time with a potential client and that’s why we are proud to offer you what is essentially a portable conference room. Sure you can still have all that show room space with your exhibit featuring a wide variety of pedestals, hanging racks, video monitors, information displays, etc…but now you will also have the ability to take those customers you want to spend some extra time with back to a private enclosed area complete with fabric walls, a small portable conference table, and chairs so you can sit back and get down to business.

When building those all important business relationships sometimes you need to get away from all the chaos and noise that a trade show brings in order to be able to really get a sense of what the customer is looking for. With a portable conference room from Godfrey you will be getting just that!

Our Display Rental Option Won’t Leave You Feeling Taxed!

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

You may not know it yet, but unless something is done soon beginning at the first of the January that paycheck you work so hard for everyday will be a lot less. The reason behind the decrease in pay is because of the planned expiration of the Making Work Pay tax credit a credit that many never knew they were ever receiving.  As part of the Recovery Act that was put into place last year the credit was geared toward putting more money in the pockets of those that needed it most with hopes that they would take the extra cash and pump it back into the economy by spending more on food, clothes, gadgets, etc….Although Congress is working towards extending the credit, they may not be able to enact the extension in time because of lack of support. According to Chuck Marr, director of federal tax policy at the Center on Budget and Policy the credit is simply not on anyone’s priority list “when almost every middle and lower class American is going to face higher taxes, nobody’s talking about it…Most people may have no idea they received it and no idea that it’s going away. But what you can be certain of is that they’ll have less money and they’ll spend less — and this is a terrible time for the economy to lose $60 billion of spending”

It’s no secret the economy is far from able to be considered recovered from the recent recession and nobody knows this better than the small business owners that strive to make a profit each day. This why Godfrey is proud to offer those looking to survive a chance to still promote or expand their business by allowing them the same quality display available to others but on rental terms. Rental displays can be rented over a period of time to test out a possible new look or for those days when you just can’t be in two places at once.

Options include:

If you are a small business that can’t afford to lose another dime while Congress waits to decide on if the Making Work Pay tax credit will survive or not, the best option for promoting your company may just be Godfrey’s display rental program. 2011 Trade Show Trends!!

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

It may seem kinda silly to be talking about 2011 what with Thanksgiving being tomorrow and all, but the fact is the time to get ready for next year’s trade show is today. A great looking trade show display doesn’t happen overnight, but instead takes time in order to ensure that you are getting exactly what you need to set yourself apart from your competitor. At Godfrey from the very moment you contact a personal project manager a constant dialog is established which allows you to voice your opinion on color, design, style, accessories, and keeps you up to date every step of the way as the display or exhibit is created. The most important decision though is as old as time itself, “What do people want?” In hopes of shedding some light on this continuous dilemma, today we are going to take out the old crystal ball and tell you what we think will be the hottest trade show trends for 2011

*Value over price- It used to be that price was king, but these days with the economy picking up steam consumers are just as interested in the value they will receive by purchasing a product as they are by what they will have to pay for it. Grand fabric exhibits and custom built pop-ups will definitely help you get your point across, but the key for today’s consumer is letting them touch, feel, and taste your product first hand in order to convince them that you are offering a quality product.

*Social Media and the pressures of friendship- Forget phone calls and mail-outs, the trick to getting your target market’s attention is reaching them where they live and that’s on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. These are the places where we find out what our best friends and favorite celebrities are tripping over themselves to get to; where our favorite restaurants are offering special promotions for following along on their sites. At your next event make sure to add a couple of spaces to that ledger you have set up at your information booth to include ways to reach them via social networking sites and email

*Meeting expectations- With so many products flooding the market, in order to separate yourself from the competition one of the most important things that have to be done is you have to meet the expectations of your customers. Not only does every bell and whistle need to be laid out and easy to use, but they must be of high quality. This is where an audio/video display proves invaluable in that you have the ability to showcase every aspect of your product in a eye capturing format.

The Hottest Toys Of The Year Could Be Found At Your Next Trade Show!!!

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

You don’t have to be a little kid to know the terms Kinect, Playstation Move, or Sing-a-ma-jig. These are just a few of the hottest video game consoles and toys on the market this holiday season. Long gone are the days when it was only children that kept up with the latest in toys. These days everyone from teenagers to retirees are addicted to such gaming systems  as the Nintendo Wii. While every mom, pop, aunt, and uncle, are scrambling for this year’s must have gifts, it may not be a bad idea to think about picking up one or two yourself to use as a little extra incentive for consumers to visit you at that next trade show event.

Must have gifts make the perfect attention getters at any event. Imagine the following: a custom built trade show exhibit featuring full color overhead banners, fabric walls, enough shelving to hold tons of inventory, all of it covered in your company’s name and logo. An electronic information center sits near the entrance flashing a picture of this year’s got to have gaming system the Xbox Kinect the only system that does away with hand held controls and translates your movements into action on the screen and in large print “WIN YOUR VERY OWN XBOX KINECT!!!” A audio/video booth is set up to allow visitors to experience the thrill of the games first hand and in the back past all your merchandise is a small pedestal where guests can sign up to win by simply dropping their name and contact info into a fish bowl.

Promotions offering a chance for visitors to your exhibit a way to win big are great ways to get your company’s name out to the public and meet tons of people that might otherwise skip your booth. Essentially allowing that all important foot to get in the door, a prize such as this year’s hottest toy is a gateway to thousands of potential sales and in the long run may be the cheapest most profitable alternative to large marketing campaigns. Before you get ready to go to your next trade show event think about giving something back to the customer and thank about how Godfrey can turn help you turn any trade show into one for the record books!
