Just as quickly as we posted last Friday about that stubborn Old Man Winter and how hard areas of the country were being hit this year by one winter storm after the next, Mother Nature heard our cries and delivered to the South one of the prettiest warmest weeks we’ve had in a very long time. We know this warming trend won’t last and that more than likely the last snowflake has yet to hit the ground, but at least a little bit of the claustrophobia that so many of us have been dealing with as we sit and watch foot after foot of the white stuff pile up in front of our windows has subsided. Still though that itch is there for warmer temps. For days spent on the back porch grilling steaks, tossing the football, and listening to tunes. Adventure is calling as families begin the ever important debate on where should they go this Spring and Summer.
For those vendors who make the majority of their money traveling from one outdoor festival to the next serving everything from deep fried Oreos to homemade freshly squeeze lemonade, the time to plan for the coming warm weather has also arrived. Outdoor kiosks need are unique in that they need to be sturdy enough to survive high winds, triple digit temps, and provide enough room to maneuver around in as you try to serve 50 salivating people all at the same time. Oh and it wouldn’t hurt if they remembered who you were once they got their steak on a stick and headed towards the main event.
The Dome Kiosk is everything an outdoor vendor needs and more. Its unique shape not only stands out in peoples mind but also provides you with tons of counter space, plenty of room for storage, enough shade to keep you cool, and the perfect amount of room to include all your custom logos and graphics. Available in two shapes round or octagonal and two sizes 6.5′ and the 9′ dome, printing options include:
*Top Canopy Printed Full Color
*Counter Wrap Printed Full Color
*Solid Color Pennant & Pole
*Pennant Imprint
Simple put the Dome is one of the best outdoor kiosks on the market today and is the perfect fit for any vendor who is looking to get noticed at that next fair, carnival, or outdoor market. Contact one of our personal project managers today!

Here we are finally making it to Friday, all set to make every second of the coming weekend count and yet once again most of the country is faced with literally feet of snow ruining everything in its path. The past two months have been nothing but one winter storm after the other, a trend that doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of slowing down despite what that pesky Puxatony Phil says. According to a recent weather report from CNN just this week “Parts of Oklahoma had received up to 12 inches of snow, according to the state Department of Emergency Management. Wind chills were 10 to 30 degrees below zero in some areas, and authorities were urging people to stay off the roads. Some 80 people in Oklahoma had been injured as a result of the storm, the state Department of Health said Wednesday. That total included 63 falls, one carbon monoxide poisoning, 14 injuries in traffic accidents and two “cut/pierce injuries.”
Like it or not more than ever, this year winter is an unmovable force that must be dealt with. A force that demands to be reckoned with. That cannot be overlooked or dismissed with the wave of a hand. If you think about it this is exactly what you want from a trade show display; something that creates buzz around a conference center, makes people stand up and take notice of who you are, that hooks into them and refuses to let go until they check out exactly what you have to offer. A display that WOW’s the crowd and opens their wallets.
We’ve all been to those events where after one walk around the room, you’re left feeling like you’ve seen everything a thousand times before and really wouldn’t have missed anything had you decided to stay home. Godfrey isn’t in the business of creating these types of boring displays. Give us the chance and what you will soon discover is that we have the tools to create for you a custom built trade show exhibit that is guaranteed to stop consumers in their tracks and stand in line to find out what amazing things are being offered.
If you are in the market for a custom built trade show display take a cue from Old Man Winter and let Godfrey design for you a display that will leave the crowd breathless!

In a lot of ways putting on a great trade show appearance is like producing a play. It may sound like a stretch but just think of the last trade show you attended and all the different things large and small that needed to be handled before the doors were opened signaling the beginning of the big event. Although the trade show will only last a few days the list of things that need to be done months in advance include:
*Locking in the date you will be attending
*Planning what you will be showing to the public.
*Making travel plans such as what flights to take and what hotels will offer the best rate
*Inventory needs to be stocked
*Potential customers in the area need to called on so they know where they can find you and what you will be offering.
*Employees to need be made aware of what will be expected
All of this and a ton of other decisions must be made before you even get to the conference center. Once there the production really kicks into high gear as all that planning pays off and a thousand more issues raise their ugly head. The event is going to last longer than originally thought, do you have enough product? The event planner stuck you in a spot where no one will be able to find you, is there a possibility to be moved? Where is the best place to put your additional signage such as posters or information displays? During those first hours of every trade show chaos rules and that’s why Godfrey prides itself on making sure that with all that is going on around you the last thing you have to worry about is your custom built display.
Regardless of if we are talking about an outdoor tent, an indoor grand format fabric structure, a custom built workstation, or an simple sampling kiosk, with the help of our designers and personal project managers the last thing you are going to have to worry about is how well your custom built trade show exhibit will stand up to the competition and how difficult it will be to install. So remember the next time you begin planning your schedule, get with Godfrey and enjoy the feeling of having one less thing to worry about.

Recently my family and I had the opportunity to visit the McWane Science Center in Birmingham, Al. The three story building which is tucked away among banks, brokerage firms, and other offices downtown, is one of the many hidden gems in the city. For my four year old it was a dream come true. Unlike other museums which encourage silence and strolling from one exhibit to the next, the McWane Center has only one rule and that’s nothing is off limits in terms of what you can touch, pull, push, or throw. The completely interactive museum is everything that you would expect from what is essentially a business trying to get people in the door. Like the McWane Science Center in order to grow and encourage consumers to spend their hard earned money, today’s business must put aside the old ways of simply describing what their product does and instead give them complete access to experience the item firsthand.
It used to be the case not too long ago that in order to convince consumers that a product would change their lives, all a company would need to do is invest in a pedestal, an information booth to hold a few brochures, and a good pitchman. Times have changed though and with them trade shows are no longer filled with well suited guys spreading the charm and instead feature full scale putt putt golf courses, interactive audio video displays, not to mention chances to win big with such guaranteed crowd pleasers such as cash closets or spin to win games. In order to win a potential customer over they need to be able to touch, taste, and test the product so they know that what they are looking at is the latest thing that they can’t live without. Consumers want a chance to get on Facebook or Twitter to find out what others have to say about your product. They need to Google the latest news and reviews before they dish out the cash.
If you are a small business owner or trade show vendor looking to make a stronger impression while increasing sales, then the time has come to give your customers what they want with a fully customized interactive trade show display from Godfrey featuring the hottest designs on the market today!

Last week Anaheim Convention Center in always sunny Anaheim, California was the home of the annual National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) trade show. The event which is unfortunately not open to the public drew a crowd of over 90,000 and caught some headlines thanks to a one of a kind music set that is has everyone across the country talking. It all went down Wednesday when former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and rumored 2012 Republican presidential candidate got the chance of a lifetime to pick up a guitar and play a couple songs with legendary Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen. Huckabee was at the trade show in support of their commitment to keep music education in schools. The former Governor turned Fox New talk show host described this year’s NAMM trade show as “musician’s heaven”
Soon after the jam session took place the video went viral and within seconds millions all around the world that had never heard of the trade show event were suddenly checking out the NAMM video. As one can imagine this kind of advertising is priceless, yet isn’t anything that can’t be done by any other trade show vendor on the circuit today. The trick is giving the people something they have never seen before such as a one of a kind display that is sure to knock them off their socks. Imagine the type of response you could receive by letting Godfrey help you design a custom built display such as a submarine complete with a periscope, portholes, video monitors, and computer kiosks that are specifically designed to engage the customer. How about an eco-friendly trade show display with a center tower topped with fire and surrounded by monitors showing off your hottest products.
Sure it helps to have a movie star or legend of rock handy, but when one of those isn’t waiting in the wings a quality built custom designed trade show display from Godfrey is sure to get people talking!

Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the past three years, you’ve heard about Facebook and probably have better things to do anyway like protecting your family from a T-Rex or something. For the rest of us who can’t help but check our walls every five minutes of the day and feel compelled to let the world know that we ate too much Chinese food for lunch, Facebook is more than just another website it’s our way of constantly staying in touch with the pulse of the world. Imagine a day very soon in our children’s lives in which they literally never lose touch with anyone. For us adults high school friends haven’t been seen in twenty years; for our children, friends new and old will always only be a click away. If you’re a small business owner looking to promote yourself in this tough economy Facebook may just be the answer to those prayers.
Five Ways To Promote Via Facebook
Let the world know you have arrived- You just got to that trade show event that has been hyped so much only to find that A) it’s sooooo crowded nobody can find anyone in the maze of booths or B) it’s dead and nobody is walking the isles. Luckily you’ve just started up a Facebook page and over the past few months have been collecting a steady stream of followers which can also be considered potential customers. Immediately you pull out your smartphone and start taking pictures of your custom designed trade show exhibit complete with hanging banners and large video monitors. Within seconds you’ve told the world where you are and what to look forward when they arrive.
Videos can be instant commercials- For those that are unable to make it to that trade show or for simply showing off your new portable showroom designs, Facebook allows you to post video of your company in action. Plus Facebook is essentially an internet phone tree. For example say you post a video and one of your 300 followers says they liked it. Now not only have you shown that new showroom interior to your 300 followers, but that instantly doubles to include the 300 followers of the person that left the comment, then the number doubles again as more and more people comment on your original video.
Give customers 15 minutes of fame- While at that trade show posting videos about how great and exciting your trade show display looks, take the time to catch some visitors on camera and let them share in the limelight. There’s nothing people like more than some individual attention and getting on the on the web is the same as putting that spotlight right on them.
Don’t discount the power of Facebook- One new trend in business in terms of using Facebook to gain a competitive edge, is the concept of offering followers Facebook only discounts. From an extra 10% off on football tickets to free appetizers at your favorite restaurant, retailers big and small are learning that rewarding their loyal followers can quickly mean big business.
