I’m going to a big trade show in Kentucky tomorrow; it’s a show that comes around twice a year, and I ALWAYS go.
When I’m there, I like to walk around and look at pretty much everything, but there are always a few tried-and-true booths that draw me to them every single time.
They’re easy to find, too, because at every single show, they’re always set up in exactly the same spot.
If you set up your kiosk or booth at the same show once or twice – or more often than that – each year, it’s vitally important that your faithful returning customers know exactly where to find you. Some people love to wander around a trade show, but some don’t, and if you have customers who come to the show expressly to find YOU, it’s best that you set up in the same place each time.

Besides, knowing ahead of time exactly WHERE your display will be is a tremendous relief and help; you’ll know beforehand just how your display will look; you’ll know beforehand exactly what your options are as to electrical outlets, lighting, doorways, etc., and, most important of all, your returning customers will know exactly where to find you.

With the number of trade shows and conventions or meeting and conferences some companies are attending, it is important to make sure that it is also affordable. Making sure that your booth is affordable is also a consideration. If you are doing a number of shows every year, and you have a number of people that are working in each show it my be beneficial to have a easily transportable trade show display or exhibit booth. If it takes a plane, a truck a train, a forklift and a team of people to set it up, it may not be the most affordable option. If your trade show display is easy take down and set up and anyone on your team can do it that may be the best option. There are many displays that take elaborate and complex instructions to set up and that can be costly. There are others on the other hand that are put right on the plane with you carried in and out of the convention floor and popped right up and are ready for use. That can be the best bet when wanting to travel light. How about your trade show display? Is it easy to assemble? Can anyone on your team set it up? This might be a consideration when picking out your display to be used as a sales tool.

Some of the standard sizes for trade show display spaces are 10 x 10 and 20 by 20, but there are some instances when a trade show booth might be an awkward size or it might need some special configuration. There are some outdoor facilities that need to have some special design work. We can certiainly help you with your special sizes, and with any special designs that need to be implemented. Another situation where a trade show booth and exhibit may need some special attention is when companies are sharing space on a trade show floor. What is the overall size fo the trade show booth area? What is the size of the partnering company’s display? What are your colors and their colors? Perhaps some special attention is needed to be given for details like these so that your display or your exihibit area stands out above the crowd. Are there special needs that are required of the type of event that you are planning? Are you prepared to answer these questions? With the economy taking its downturn, and with places like the Las Vegas Convention Center Authority reporting the cancellation of 340 conventions and trade shows, Event planners and their peers are beginning to look for ways to cut corners on their booth and display costs in the trade show and convention industry. This is especially true for planners or exhibitors that do many shows but are cutting back to only a single show that they do in a year. What do they use as their trade show display?
Some of the exhibitors are turning to renting their exhibit booths and displays. this way they don’t have to worry about paying for a booth or display that they may only use a single time in a year. They don’t have to store it and worry about its upkeep. Many exhibitors are also turning to rental displays as this is a better way to have multiple displays when they have shows at opposite ends of the country at the same time. They don’t have to purchase more than one display or booth.
