Window Designs Guaranteed To Draw A Crowd!!

Saturday, January 8th, 2011

The holidays are over. The stockings have all been put up to next year. The Christmas tree lights no longer twinkle till the wee hours of the morning. Auld Lang Syne has been sung and the streamers have all been swept up. That list of gifts you had to get has been tossed aside and now we all face the same problem of trying to hold on to as much money as possible in order to pay off our Christmas debt. For small business owners this time of year is traditionally one of the toughest, known for the number of bankruptcies that are filed each year by companies that unsuccessfully pinned all their hopes on lack luster holiday sales.

No longer driven by the fear of showing up without a gift for every stranger and coworker at the company Christmas party, stores have to be even more vigilant to attract consumers into their stores. Window shopping which is considered by many to be a sport to begin with, quickly takes hold of the country with only those retailers with the most enticing displays gaining a visit from customers who are holding on to their wallets with a death grip.  If you would like to be one of the few that has such an amazing custom designed window display that customers literally line up to get inside, then the time has come to reach out to Godfrey for some help on how to survive those winter blues.

Godfrey has exactly what you need to stop those window shoppers in their tracks with such choices as window banners available in sizes 15.5′ X 24′, 24′ X 36′, and 24′ X 48′, in and outdoor window pennants that can easily be mounted via our flag pole suction cup mount, and our fantastic looking glass mounted literature holders perfect for vendors just itching to get their promotional materials into the right hands. Study Shows New Growth In Trade Show Attendance!

Monday, January 3rd, 2011

Looking back to what was 2010 there were a ton of stories that caught the nations attentions; the Chilean miners trapped underground for 69 days, the Gulf of Mexico Oil spill that will be sending shockwaves through the entire country from years to come, and maybe the biggest story of them all the continued struggle to revive the slumping economy.  Several months back we mentioned that at least from the point of view of one economist things were finally getting back on the right track. According to Gunther Bright, VP of the Global Client Group “We’re seeing a significant shift to a more positive outlook among finance executives as companies have moved from simply surviving the present to investing in growth for the future. At the same time, the experience of the recession set the stage for a newfound and long-term focus on financial discipline and management rigor”. Now comes word from the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) that for the first time in a while trade show growth is on the rise!

In a release from the research agency, the CEIR is stating that according to their findings the third quarter was witness to the first upswing in trade show growth in nine quarters. “After a record setting nine consecutive quarters of negative quarter over quarter performance, the third quarter of the 2010 CEIR Index reports all four metrics show improvement over the third quarter of 2009. This is most welcome news and tends to confirm some of the anecdotal reports we have reviewed. It should be noted that the third quarter is historically the weakest of the four quarters and has had the greatest decline. The test will be to see if this positive trend continues into the fourth quarter of 2010 and then the all important first quarter of 2011.”

This means that for those companies holding back from attending a larger number of trade shows than they typically would, now is the time to look into jumping back into the waters and riding the wave of growth to higher sales. Thankfully Godfrey is here to help you make a splash with tons of original and custom designed trade show exhibits especially designed to grab the attention of all those consumers looking to be amazed! Don’t wait until it’s too late and risk losing money that could be made as more and more visitors pile into trade show centers all across the country. Contact Godfrey today!

Renting A Display Could Save Your 2011 Budget!!

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

This week we talking about the one thing on everyone’s mind and that’s New Year’s resolutions. Whether you are planning on quitting smoking, joining a gym, or answering the phone when your mom calls every day, no doubt you have something special in mind that if you could just stick to it might change your entire life. New Year’s resolutions aren’t just for individuals though. In fact setting a list of goals for the coming business year is always a good practice to maintain and could end up making you a ton of profits. On Monday we discussed a type of resolution that is sure to be at the top of everyone’s list, going green with the help of Godfrey’s PodForum series of environmentally friendly trade show displays. Today we want to focus on another way to save, but this time we want to target your wallet with the help of our trade show rental program.

One question we get time and time again about display renting is “How can it help my business?” The answer is “How can it not?” Regardless of whether you operate a retail store, a mail order company, or even a mall kiosk, renting a display is not only a smart decision it may just be the key to opening up doors you never knew existed.

How renting a display can help your business

1) Allows you to be in two places at the same time. We understand you can’t always control other people’s schedules and that at times it seems almost impossible to be at all the places that you would like to at the same time. So what do you do on those days you need to be at the big trade show in Chicago, at the local union meeting near your headquarters in New York, and still keep someone at your flagship store? Whether it’s a onetime thing or you find yourself continuously pulled in multiple directions, a rental display can help by easily giving you a presence where the help is needed.

2)Testing out new ideas becomes easier. Got an idea that just might change the way you market your company? Want to test out the waters of the trade show market without having to risk losing a ton of cash? Thinking about expanding but not sure if now is the best time? Renting a display takes care of all of these problems without causing you to over extend your budget

With the New Year quickly approaching now is the time make those changes and take those chances you have been chewing over for months. Thanks to Godfrey’s display rental program you are one click away from gaining access to a display that includes such options as: a standard portable display with graphics creating a custom look; a combination of our systems configured for a custom look; a customized TechForm or Truss beam system; a complete custom PodForum system.

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

Every display needs one, every vendor could use one, and every lover of free samples desperately seeks one; today we are talking trade show pedestals. Believe it or not, all trade show pedestals are not created equally. Some are tall, some are short,  some are wide, some are narrow, some even turn into their own shipping case. Check out these awesome designs!

The Right Attitude Can Make Or Break A Custom Trade Show Display

Friday, December 17th, 2010

The display went up in seconds with no problems. Within minutes you were able to unload everything, find your assigned spot at the convention center, and assemble that custom designed trade show exhibit made especially for you. Complete with a couple pedestals, an information display, a couple video monitors, and of course your logo featured prominently in several locations, it’s hard to argue that you’ve got one of the best looking exhibits at the event. Knowing it’s not all about the look of the display though, you have made sure to cover all the bases. Weeks were spent going over every fine detail of the product line you will be presenting, calls and emails were sent in advance to generate some early buzz about where you will be, you’ve even placed a couple banners out front to let those coming know where to find you.

Suddenly you hit a string of bad luck. You get nudged on the way back from getting coffee and spill it all over your pants. You run out to the truck to find something to clean up with only to realize you have a flat tire. On your way back you notice someone has stolen one of your better priced items and of course nobody saw anything. Needless to say before the day even starts going good your attitude is far less than positive. As the day progresses you begin speaking to a lot of potential customers. The convention center is full, but for some reason you are barely able to squeak out more than five minutes of anyone’s time. In frustration you begin to look around at your exhibit for what the problem could be….only the problem isn’t the display it’s your attitude.

We all have bad days and tribulations we must go through, but the best looking display in the world will only do so much good if the attitude it is presented with stinks. It’s extremely important to set aside all those bad vibes and focus on the customer when those doors open and people start piling in. Another thing to remember is that a positive attitude shouldn’t be confined to the area of your exhibit. People notice more than we tend to give them credit for and it’s not unreasonable to say that potential customers were nearby when that cup of hot coffee got spilled on you, when you screamed because of that flat tire, and when you feverishly attempted to hunt down a would be thief. All that planning you did weeks before the event and that custom designed display will only go so far if you present them to the customer in a sarcastic or unfriendly manner.

The next time you get ready to start your day dealing with potential customers, think about your attitude and make sure to be positive!

Our Display Rental Option Won’t Leave You Feeling Taxed!

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

You may not know it yet, but unless something is done soon beginning at the first of the January that paycheck you work so hard for everyday will be a lot less. The reason behind the decrease in pay is because of the planned expiration of the Making Work Pay tax credit a credit that many never knew they were ever receiving.  As part of the Recovery Act that was put into place last year the credit was geared toward putting more money in the pockets of those that needed it most with hopes that they would take the extra cash and pump it back into the economy by spending more on food, clothes, gadgets, etc….Although Congress is working towards extending the credit, they may not be able to enact the extension in time because of lack of support. According to Chuck Marr, director of federal tax policy at the Center on Budget and Policy the credit is simply not on anyone’s priority list “when almost every middle and lower class American is going to face higher taxes, nobody’s talking about it…Most people may have no idea they received it and no idea that it’s going away. But what you can be certain of is that they’ll have less money and they’ll spend less — and this is a terrible time for the economy to lose $60 billion of spending”

It’s no secret the economy is far from able to be considered recovered from the recent recession and nobody knows this better than the small business owners that strive to make a profit each day. This why Godfrey is proud to offer those looking to survive a chance to still promote or expand their business by allowing them the same quality display available to others but on rental terms. Rental displays can be rented over a period of time to test out a possible new look or for those days when you just can’t be in two places at once.

Options include:

If you are a small business that can’t afford to lose another dime while Congress waits to decide on if the Making Work Pay tax credit will survive or not, the best option for promoting your company may just be Godfrey’s display rental program. Hanging Headers Will Keep Customers Looking Your Way!!

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

It’s late and you’ve found yourself in a part of town you are unfamiliar with. Face it you are lost. Out of frustration you look up and suddenly there it is….the sign you have been looking for pointing you towards familiar territory.

The building is packed full of people trying to get in to see the latest movie. You barely get in your seat when the power shuts off, a clap of thunder booms through the buildings, and chaos breaks out. As those around you begin to panic you see the soft red glow of the exit sign just over head in the distance. Within minutes you are safely outside and away from the uncertainty inside.

Whether we are lost, in an emergency situation, or wanting to find your way through a crowd quickly our natural instinct is to look up over the horizon for guidance from above. The same thought behind all of those giant billboards covering the sides of our city streets and interstates can also help you attract attention to your booth at that next trade show event.

Overhead hanging headers do more than just take advantage of the otherwise wasted space above your exhibit, they lock in on people’s natural instincts to look up when trying to find their way. Not only do hanging headers and overhead banners allow you to be seen from all angles, they come in a wide variety of custom looks which is sure to capture the attention of all those in attendance.

Styles and Options

*Round Header with full color graphics including printed bottom

*Tapered Round Header

*Triangular Header

*Concave Triangular Header

*Pinwheel Header

In addition to hanging headers, Godfrey also offers custom built rotating banner towers! Featuring a 48″ wide X 12′ high support tower topped with a 8′wide X 42″ circular rotating banner, customers will have no choice but to notice you. Easy to snap together and fully customizable, an optional counter is offered to complete the look of this amazing display.

The next time you feel frustrated about your company’s trade show exhibit don’t look up look to Godfrey and learn how to turn that next event into one you’ll never forget.

Creating Repeat Customers

Monday, November 29th, 2010

You’ve invested in the best looking high tech multi colored showroom you could find. You hired a quality staff that knows your product from top to bottom. Everywhere they turn consumers are hit in the face with your custom logo. High quality audio/video display….got it! Shelves full of merchandise ready to be purchased….done! The red carpet laid out to greet new visitors….complete. You’ve done all your research and feel that everything is in place to guarantee a steady flow of customers. Yet for some reason the doors only swing open a few times a day and never with a familiar face. While everything may look perfect inside the store, you’ve failed to do one thing and that’s build a relationship with your target market. We all know customers can be fickle sometimes and figuring out what makes them spend their hard earned cash is far from an exact science, but one thing is sure and that’s people are creatures of habit. It may be hard to get them to visit for the first time, but if you play your cards right it hopefully won’t be the last time.

3 Tips To Getting Repeat Customers

Freebies/Discounts- One sure fire way to get people walking back through the door is to give them something of value that they can’t get anywhere else. Whether it’s a sample booth out front of the store offering free samples of your newest product, an extra 10% off their next purchase, the choice is yours as long as it leaves the customer feeling as if they got an inside deal that not everyone else can get.

Connecting To The Community- Another way to ensure return visits is to establish yourself in the community. Sponsor a charity drive, host a car wash for the local high school, the trick is to show that you care about those in your community by doing something that gives back to it.

Social Networking- Getting in touch with your target market where they spend most of their time is always a good idea. By creating a Facebook page and twitter feed for your store, you have the ability to connect not only with past customers but with their friends. The more they begin to read or take notice of your posts the more they will view you as a trusted source.

How to turn everyday into Black Friday!!

Friday, November 26th, 2010

It’s officially Black Friday and shoppers everywhere across the country are camping out in line for the hottest deals of the season. Neither rain, sleet, nor snow kept people in their beds this morning as they braved the early hours, endless lines, and hordes of people just itching to get their hands on that must have item of the year. According to those in the know, the history of Black Friday goes back over forty years; “The term “Black Friday” was coined in the 1960s to mark the kickoff to the Christmas shopping season. “Black” refers to stores moving from the “red” to the “black,” back when accounting records were kept by hand, and red ink indicated a loss, and black a profit. Ever since the start of the modern Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1924, the Friday after Thanksgiving has been known as the unofficial start to a bustling holiday shopping season.”

While Black Friday is definitely worth battling the early hours and out of control crowds for consumers, for vendors fighting to get their attention everyday has the possibility of setting sales records thanks to 2 amazing displays.

TechForm Aluminum Extrusion Exhibit System

How many times have you found yourself walking out of the mall or towards the checkout line and suddenly locked in on a new gadget that will change your life. Some of the most sold items on the market are found near the exits as consumers simply can’t avoid last second spontaneous buys. The TechForm Exhibit System is built for just those types of items. Featuring Velcro receptive fabric panels, halogen arm lights, a four tier center shelving module, and two side wall extensions with built in racks made to hang products such as shirts, jackets, etc….the TechForm System is a sure bet for those looking to attract some major attention and capitalize on last minute spontaneous shoppers.

ShowTopper Panel System

For vendors wanting more of a showroom style design with tons of shelving space and room for additional options such as an information booth or audio/video display, the ShowTopper is the show stopper. Along with full color custom graphics featuring your company’s name and logo emblazoned all around, the 20′ version includes three 6 figure panel displays with top riser panels, five backlit headers, eight straight shelves, and eight wedge shelves!! Talk about room for inventory, this is the perfect design for vendors looking to put as much variety in front of the consumer as possible.
