Trade Show Game Displays and Props

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

fairytales-dscf7226-9513No matter what kind of kiosk, booth, or display you might need,  we can provide it for you, custom-made to your specifications.

To make an exhibit more interactive, many people opt for a game display; these are exciting, and turn your exhibit into a real crowd-pleasing draw.

We can give you all kinds of suggestions, tips, formats, materials, descriptions, props, and designs that will make your game display unique.

Our game displays and props are made of all kinds of materials, including foam and inflatables.  And, as our website explains, inflatables are lightweight and more compact to ship, while foam props are also lightweight and more lifelike.  It all depends on what YOU want!

We want to help you design your kiosk, so call or fax your ideas, along with a description, size, and use; we’ll do our very best to help you put it all together.

Our customer service people will be happy to help you.  Give them a call at 1-800-789-9394.

Be Ready – BEFORE Everyone Else!

Monday, July 20th, 2009

I’ve posted before about the importance of BEING READY when the trade show opens, but here is another piece of advice about that:  It’s even better to be ready for your customers and potential customers BEFORE everybody else is ready!

Get to the venue as early as you can, and set up your kiosk or booth.  Remember, at least two people, so there is always someone to talk to potential customers!

When the show actually opens, other vendors might still be setting up, but you got there early and are ready to sell!

Trade Show Advice: Knowledgeable Workers!

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

When people go to your booth or kiosk at a trade show, they expect to find knowledgeable people working there.bannerstand-category-608

This means, naturally, that anyone who is working at your booth needs to know ALL about your product or service, because if you hire a warm body to hold down the fort while you go to lunch, and a potential customer asks a complicated or technical question that your temp can’t answer, you’ve LOST THAT CUSTOMER!

The moral of the story is this:  make sure that everybody who is working your kiosk and therefore representing you and your business, knows everything that can possibly be known about your product or service.

Anything less just isn’t acceptable.  Period.

BlogHer 2009

Monday, July 13th, 2009

While not technically a trade show, BlogHer is one of the largest conferences for women in the world.  Every year, BlogHer’s vendors vie with each other over booth space and who gives out the coolest, most sought-after samples.23826490_37f0d134ed

A kiosk or booth in the vendor hall at BlogHer makes money, my friends.  Hundreds and hundreds of women of all ages will be walking up and down the vendor aisles, sniffing out samples, filling out interest sheets, asking questions about products/services, and contacting your business a few days, weeks, or even years, later.

It might behoove interested vendors to know that the vendor aisles at BlogHer sell out quickly.  Most vendors come back again year after year.

I still have business cards from previous BlogHer conferences on my refrigerator.  I’ve purchased things two years after the conference was over because a vendor gave me a card.

It’s too late for this year’s BlogHer – the vendor aisles were sold out MONTHS ago – but it’s not too late for BlogHer 2010.  Put it on your calendar.  It’s an experience you’ll never forget!

Trade Show Dates: Check Locally Before You Schedule!

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Before you schedule your trade show, be sure you’ve checked, double-checked, and triple-checked the schedules for any and all other big exhibits, ball games, shows, displays, etc in the area, because if you accidentally schedule your show at the same time something else is going on, your attendance will be greatly reduced.  Not only that:  your show will be forever known, locally, as the show that scheduled itself at the same time as the community-wide flea market, and you really don’t want that kind of association!

Pick a time when nothing else is going on!  Then YOURS will be the only game in town.calendargraphic

This conflict and bad press can be avoided by several simple date checks.

It comes down to something like this:  Don’t schedule your trade show on the same weekend as the state basketball tournament.  Etc.

Branded Shirts For Trade Show Workers

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

screenshot_4Anyone who is working in a booth or kiosk is a representative of that business.  All representatives of any business should be recognizable on sight, and one way to guarantee this is to make sure all of a business’ workers are wearing identical shirts.

Nice shirts.  Not plain t-shirts that tend to look raggedy around the collar after a few hours.  Invest in employee shirts that will represent your business right: branded golf shirts are always a good choice.

Few things are as annoying as wanting help or information and not knowing who is actually WORKING. The shirts will remove all doubt.

Business Cards in More Than One Area? Excellent!

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Every business has business cards to give to potential customers, of course, but WHEN do your customers get your card?

istock_000005425588_2_xsmalAt the trade show I attended on Saturday,  there was a large table in the foyer, and it was covered with stacks of business cards.  Attendees were poring over the topics, selecting cards of interest, and following the information on those cards to the appropriate kiosk or booth wherein was set up the business or service needed by that customer.

Once at the booth, a different business card was handed out.

My point?  Turn a trade show attendee into a potential customer before he/she even enters the showroom!  Make sure YOUR business cards are easily available in the foyer, as well as at your kiosk or booth.

Pictures: Setup, Display, and CUSTOMERS!

We’ve posted before about the importance of taking pictures of your trade show displays, and everything in that post is still true!

While you’re taking pictures, though, why not get a lot of pictures that include interested customers?  And after you get a lot of pictures of your displays being looked at and touched and obviously catching the interest of potential customers, why not post the pictures on a bulletin board for OTHER potential customers to see?  (Be sure to get permission from each individual person whose picture you plan to post, BEFORE you post it!)  (Most people love to see themselves.)

There are many reasons why it’s important to get some good pictures of your kiosk or booth, while it’s being set up and after it’s all set up.  It is also important to display pictures of interested people who are LOOKING at your displays.

Make Sure Your Returning Customers Can Find Your Booth!

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

I’m going to a big trade show in Kentucky tomorrow; it’s a show that comes around twice a year, and I ALWAYS go.

When I’m there, I like to walk around and look at pretty much everything, but there are always a few tried-and-true booths that draw me to them every single time.

They’re easy to find, too, because at every single show, they’re always set up in exactly the same spot.

If you set up your kiosk or booth at the same show once or twice – or more often than that – each year, it’s vitally important that your faithful returning customers know exactly where to find you.  Some people love to wander around a trade show, but some don’t, and if you have customers who come to the show expressly to find YOU, it’s best that you set up in the same place each time.

Besides, knowing ahead of time exactly WHERE your display will be is a tremendous relief and help; you’ll know beforehand just how your display will look; you’ll know beforehand exactly what your options are as to electrical outlets, lighting, doorways, etc., and, most important of all, your returning customers will know exactly where to find you.
