Being as this is New Year’s Eve it only makes sense that we would be talking about resolutions and ways to improve your business for the coming year. So far this week we have covered ideas for saving the planet with the help of our environmentally friendly PodForum series and just how our display rental program could literally make it so you are in two places at once. Today we are going to talk about putting things off to the last minute. It’s something we all do and for many no matter how hard they try nothing cannot be put off till later so that something more fun or more desirable can be done immediately. According to one group of researchers looking into ways to more effectively manage time “In 1978, 5% of the population admitted to being chronic procrastinators compared to to roughly 26% of the population today (Steele, 2007).Surveys of student populations suggest that procrastination is pervasive with some surveys suggesting that 85-95% of students have problems associated with procrastination”
When running a business there always seems to be things that are considered more desirable and tasks that are uncomfortable to do. Nobody wants to sit around worrying about taxes or working on dropping sales reports all day when they can be out making contacts and marketing their company to the public. Still though in order to be a success it’s important to be aware of coming trends and what consumers will expect from you in the weeks or months ahead. A prime example of this can be found in Godfrey’s extensive design library. Winter is hitting the U.S hard with blizzards causing over 10,000 flight delays across the country. As individuals we can’t help but pay attention to the cold weather headlines taking over out nightly news reports, but as business owners we need to be planning for brighter days as Spring begins to creep closer and closer. This means that the time to begin designing that custom inflatable outdoor display isn’t three months from now when the temps begin to edge into the early 80′s, today is the day to begin making those plans so that when Spring has finally sprung to life you are ahead of the curve with your new trade custom built tent city already sitting within arm’s reach.
This year don’t wait to the last minute to find a display that’s a perfect fit for your needs, resolve to start looking toward the future today!!

This week we talking about the one thing on everyone’s mind and that’s New Year’s resolutions. Whether you are planning on quitting smoking, joining a gym, or answering the phone when your mom calls every day, no doubt you have something special in mind that if you could just stick to it might change your entire life. New Year’s resolutions aren’t just for individuals though. In fact setting a list of goals for the coming business year is always a good practice to maintain and could end up making you a ton of profits. On Monday we discussed a type of resolution that is sure to be at the top of everyone’s list, going green with the help of Godfrey’s PodForum series of environmentally friendly trade show displays. Today we want to focus on another way to save, but this time we want to target your wallet with the help of our trade show rental program.
One question we get time and time again about display renting is “How can it help my business?” The answer is “How can it not?” Regardless of whether you operate a retail store, a mail order company, or even a mall kiosk, renting a display is not only a smart decision it may just be the key to opening up doors you never knew existed.
How renting a display can help your business
1) Allows you to be in two places at the same time. We understand you can’t always control other people’s schedules and that at times it seems almost impossible to be at all the places that you would like to at the same time. So what do you do on those days you need to be at the big trade show in Chicago, at the local union meeting near your headquarters in New York, and still keep someone at your flagship store? Whether it’s a onetime thing or you find yourself continuously pulled in multiple directions, a rental display can help by easily giving you a presence where the help is needed.
2)Testing out new ideas becomes easier. Got an idea that just might change the way you market your company? Want to test out the waters of the trade show market without having to risk losing a ton of cash? Thinking about expanding but not sure if now is the best time? Renting a display takes care of all of these problems without causing you to over extend your budget
With the New Year quickly approaching now is the time make those changes and take those chances you have been chewing over for months. Thanks to Godfrey’s display rental program you are one click away from gaining access to a display that includes such options as: a standard portable display with graphics creating a custom look; a combination of our systems configured for a custom look; a customized TechForm or Truss beam system; a complete custom PodForum system.

To say that shopping is stressful is like saying that popcorn is made from corn. It’s a no brainer that giving is a gift can be extremely frustrating. Whether it be the perfect Valentine’s Day gift to win over that special someone, a birthday gift for that person that has everything, or the dreaded Christmas Gift that will bring a tear to your girl’s eye, no matter what the situation spending that cash you worked so hard to get is definitely something that shouldn’t be taken lightly. This proves to be even more true when it comes time to buy a new trade show exhibit. That’s why today our gift to you is a list of ways to make your trade show display shopping experience a little less stressful.
Steps To Building A Stress Free Trade Show Exhibit
Have a budget- I listed this before knowing what you want simply because what you want and what you can afford are often completely different two different things. Think about how much you can afford to spend, how much in terms of sales a new display will add to your business, and try to figure out how what you might want fits in to what you can afford.
Have a plan- Once you have an idea of how much you can spend, figure out what you need. An easier way to do this may be to figure out what you don’t need. If you are a vendor that strictly visits indoor events, you clearly don’t need to be looking at outdoor tents and inflatables. Browse our trade show design gallery and see how your idea of what a trade show display should be compares to what is available.
Know how to execute the plan- After you have narrowed down what you are looking for, it’s time to figure out the best way to get the most out of your new display. What configuration works best? What sales approaches work well with the new display? How will you direct traffic in and around your new exhibit? Make sure you know what the layout of your design will look like long before you arrive at that convention center to setup shop for the weekend.

Every display needs one, every vendor could use one, and every lover of free samples desperately seeks one; today we are talking trade show pedestals. Believe it or not, all trade show pedestals are not created equally. Some are tall, some are short, some are wide, some are narrow, some even turn into their own shipping case. Regardless of whether we are talking about outdoor displays, hanging headers, or game displays, Godfrey doesn’t do anything halfway and that includes offering you the best looking pedestals on the market today. Check out these awesome designs!
Customer Built Trade Show Pedestals
The Oval Pedestal- Need a standard pedestal with tons of options? We’ve got it. Sizes range from a top of 18″x36″ and 40″ tall to 30″x60″ top at a height of 40″.

Rectangular and Square Shape Pedestals- It’s hip to be square with these pedestals that give a new spin to something old. Available in a wide variety of colors including the ability to mix and match tops and bottoms, this is the perfect addition to any trade show exhibit.
Round Pedestals- Other than the fact that these pedestals are round, something else that makes them uber cool is the ability to stack them on top of one another. The Multi-level round pedestal offers you a bottom level that measures 16″w X 40″h, a second level measuring 30″w X 33″h, and a top level at 48″w X 26″h

With little over a week left till the official start of 2011 somewhere in the back of everyone’s mind ideas are forming as to what they want to change in their life come the New Year. It might be something as simple as making sure to always open the car door for your wife or as life changing as quitting smoking or as frustrating as trying to stop biting your nails. While it’s good to have individual resolutions, in terms of your business it might also be helpful to have a few money goals for the coming year. How much to you want to spend? How many trade shows would you like to attend? How many contacts should you make at each event? These are just a few ideas that could help make the coming year the best year to date for your company.
Two Must Have Money Goals For The Trade Show Vendor
Spend money more effectively- This is not to be confused with saving every nickel and dime that comes your way. Spending money effectively involves making sure that no matter what the cost is, you are getting the most value for your buck. An example of this could be a trade show pedestal. Now you might choose to get the cheapest one on the market. However with a little research you will quickly discover that Godfrey’s pedestals are available in a wide variety of shapes, colors, and combinations. They may not be the cheapest on the market, but why would you want something cheap when you can get something that will earn you money in the long run.
Behold The Power of The Contact Sheet- Whether you are setting up shop in the middle of a busy mall or at one of the largest convention centers in the country, you should always have the same goal….build leads. Don’t let anyone walk away from your kiosk or booth without getting their name, phone number, and or email address. The more contacts you gather the greater the chance that one of them will turn into a sale even if it takes several months. A good leads list is something that needs to be visited every month or so in order to cultivate those leads and generate other contacts as well.

The display went up in seconds with no problems. Within minutes you were able to unload everything, find your assigned spot at the convention center, and assemble that custom designed trade show exhibit made especially for you. Complete with a couple pedestals, an information display, a couple video monitors, and of course your logo featured prominently in several locations, it’s hard to argue that you’ve got one of the best looking exhibits at the event. Knowing it’s not all about the look of the display though, you have made sure to cover all the bases. Weeks were spent going over every fine detail of the product line you will be presenting, calls and emails were sent in advance to generate some early buzz about where you will be, you’ve even placed a couple banners out front to let those coming know where to find you.
Suddenly you hit a string of bad luck. You get nudged on the way back from getting coffee and spill it all over your pants. You run out to the truck to find something to clean up with only to realize you have a flat tire. On your way back you notice someone has stolen one of your better priced items and of course nobody saw anything. Needless to say before the day even starts going good your attitude is far less than positive. As the day progresses you begin speaking to a lot of potential customers. The convention center is full, but for some reason you are barely able to squeak out more than five minutes of anyone’s time. In frustration you begin to look around at your exhibit for what the problem could be….only the problem isn’t the display it’s your attitude.
We all have bad days and tribulations we must go through, but the best looking display in the world will only do so much good if the attitude it is presented with stinks. It’s extremely important to set aside all those bad vibes and focus on the customer when those doors open and people start piling in. Another thing to remember is that a positive attitude shouldn’t be confined to the area of your exhibit. People notice more than we tend to give them credit for and it’s not unreasonable to say that potential customers were nearby when that cup of hot coffee got spilled on you, when you screamed because of that flat tire, and when you feverishly attempted to hunt down a would be thief. All that planning you did weeks before the event and that custom designed display will only go so far if you present them to the customer in a sarcastic or unfriendly manner.
The next time you get ready to start your day dealing with potential customers, think about your attitude and make sure to be positive!

There are few things in this life that you can depend on. The smell of mom’s pot roast as you walk in from church on Sunday morning. The quick jab from your little brother you haven’t seen in a while. A snowman being built within hours of that first snow fall. When talking business these things we rely on become even rarer; a yearly raise, paid holidays a few times year, a free turkey at Thanksgiving. It’s nice to know that no matter what happens there will always be a cup of coffee waiting for you at the office in the morning.
Godfrey understands the need for those creature comforts we depend on so much, especially during those times when you are on the road attending a trade show. This why we go out of our way to make every display we sell as simple, easy, and of course dependable as possible so that no matter what happens on your way there, you will always know that the last thing you need to worry about is how your exhibit will look.
Whether we are talking about our out of this world Space Station pop-ups which literally come to life in seconds, table top displays that have the ability to turn a simple folding table into an award deserving exhibit, or outdoor tents and kiosks which are sure to turn the heads of all those scores of visitors that will be walking past; Godfrey has exactly what you are looking for.
By the time you deal with all the packing, unpacking, traveling, locating and checking into the hotel, the last thing you want to deal with is a complex display that requires a PHD to assemble. With Godfrey you can set your worries aside and know that just as the sky is blue you will have the best custom designed display up and ready to go in seconds.

Given you are there to sell sell sell and the whole purpose of a trade show is to get your name out by talking to as many people as possible, but still there are always those times when you can’t help but think that if you could just have a few moments of privacy with an individual it would surely lead to a sale. After all a little one on one time goes a long way to establishing that all important relationship that is essentially the foundation of any sale not to mention any reoccurring sale.
Godfrey understands this need for a place to sit out and spend some one on one time with a potential client and that’s why we are proud to offer you what is essentially a portable conference room.
